The figure carries a paper bag which places him in the world of the mundane and ordinary. What activity was the man engaged in when he was distracted and interrupted by the glamorous image of Marilyn which transports him from the world of mundanity to the world of glamour. The image of Monroe creates connotations of Pop Art iconography, the actress is brought near to us , but paradoxically also inaccessible and remote , the poster is a window to another world , the bag ties and places the figure in the mundanity of ordinary life.
